I currently have a $50 H96 Android box and it sucks. I use ProgTV on it, and worked this way for a few months; I'm sick of it now. It's slow, not to mention it crashes time to time and my box keeps restarting.
I'm thinking about making the switch a box with mag support (Not a real mag box due to Infomir's anti-piracy filters).
I still want to have my other apps like Netflix and Hulu, so I'm contemplating on what kind of box to purchase.

Shield NVIDIA.
While the Shield is great, it may be out of range of your budget.
The T95Q is highly rated and quite cheap. And the Amazon Firestick is very good too.
Edit: All Android boxes will support STBEmu for that Mag like experience.
do a factory reset on box ... and install iptv smarters app or iptv extreme app on android
both allow recording to external sd card ..

I Reccomed the Amiko A5 Combo 4K UHD Android If you looking for Satellite and android box.
If you just looking for a android box Formuler Z7+ UHD 4K Android 7 is also great. Either that or a Fire stick.
