Why IPTV, not genuine sub for football?

by greatcapp

For people that just want IPTV so they can watch EPL/Champions League games etc, why bother with IPTV when you can buy a legit subscription service for similar (or less) money?

2 that spring to mind right away are ElevenSports Taiwan (show MOST EPL games) and Optus Sports in Australia (show ALL EPL & Champ League/Europa League games).

A sub for ElevenSports in Taiwan costs around £2.80 a month & Optus in Australia is around £8 a month.

I can use the Optus one on my iPhone/iPad & Apple TV & never have any buffer/server issues.

Sure you might need to set up accounts for Optus/ElevenSports & use either a VPN or SmartDNS service, but they work great.

Surely a better solution than IPTV if you only want the football?

In the Uk where i live there are 2 rights holders for those competitions. That means i have to take out 2 subscriptions to watch EPL/Champions League not only that but they both require you to commit to at least 12 months subscription. BT sports package ranges from £9 a month to £27.99 a month sky package youre looking at £33-£45 a month just for the EPL. Not to mention NFL NBA is easily accessible on IPTV where their league pass and game pass subscriptions cost around £150-£200 each respectively for 1 year. So now to get all that all i have to pay is £9.99 a month for IPTV ? its a no brainer

SaltRaspberry8

You know that there are other leagues than EPL and Champions League right?

It's always good to know the alternatives that are out there. My IPTV is only ever switched on for football. This soundd like it might be a viable alternative for me, and it's something I've been wondering about for a while. So I'm grateful for the post, and don't understand why anyone would take issue with the OP.

m7cky

How do you pay for these services dude? Interested but assume I can't just pay with my debit/credit card.

Jcast356

I guess its also a matter of just the comfort behind iptv rarely do members use iptv just for certain sporting streams needeless to say if that is your focus there are always cheaper services that meet those needs aswell. Iptv is just an industry with alot more competition than the standard oligopolies of strraming rights from cable companies. That being said usually need multiple services that route to truly meet your needs

smirky_doc

I hear the epl are considering a netflix type service that you pay a monthly subscription. Sounds like a no brainer. It's estimated revenue would be 10 billion annually as opposed to the 8.5 they currently receive

Agree with this as I've had NBC, Optus & an India account before all worked fine from the UK. I'll have a look at the Taiwan eleven but it seems limited in comparison to Optus which shows all 3pm kick offs but in reality I only want Liverpool games which invariably are uk televised. Could never find an Amazon app that worked for Optus which really annoyed me so bought a log in for sling TV which has Rebecca Lowe presenting all day Saturday, who could ask for more. Still have iptv for back up at £2.50 pet month.

But those services aren't legit in most countries. The only legit ways to watch EPL in the uk are the Sky/BTsports. So if you're gonna subscribe to a questionably legal streaming service why not get IPTV with all the other benefits?

AssBiscuits

This would be the perfect set up for me - tried a million different providers but never feel comfortable enough with any of them to provide a great service. Are you getting no buffering at all? All I’m bothered about is the footy when it comes to live TV. Are you paying for a smart DNS?

TheSubversive

Why do you care what people subscribe to?

And that may be a better solution for you but it may not be for everyone. Besides that, you've mentioned a lot fo things in the comments that make it seem not as simple as your post makes it out to be - like a UK bank may not work for Optus. So now they have to open another bank account?

I may pay to only watch a few things on my IPTV service and maybe I could pay an equal or less amount to get those things but with the IPTV I get the OPTION of having a whole other host of things to watch, live, VOD, 24 hour channels, sports, special events, movies, etc.. So, pay a little less and get just the one thing or pay just a bit more and get everything?

titooo7

Nice findings OP. Let me know if you find something similar including La Liga & Champions League.

As you said IPTV services are good most of the times but it's quite rare to never ever have almost buffering or channel down issues during some games

I'm not really a sports fan, although a friend of mine is a pretty big Sunderland fan who can't get to the games due to mobility. Do ElevenSports carry the EFL League 1 games?

I currently stream the midweek games through the SAFC website for him at £10 a match, although UK residents cannot watch Saturday games. If ElevenSports is a workable alternative it would save him a few quid.

For Optus, do you need an Australian address to register? Do they accept payment from UK bank accounts?

Sporthull

Is there an app for 11 sports if you have a vpn in the UK for android or do you have to use a browser I see they show a lot of boxing as well

glasgow956

what vpn do you use and do they have rangers games ?

Maskedman1022000

Does the Taiwan one have English commentary?

dunkerton

Aussie here.

I tried signing up with Optus Sport on my Nvidia Shield. There's no native Shield app.

I tried sideloading the .apk on my Shield. The app won't load as it detects it's been sideloaded.

Installed Optus app on my android phone. The app refuses to run because it detects my phone is rooted.

Opened my laptop to sign up. Optus Sport only allows signups via mobile app, and I'm all out of devices.

That's why I use IPTV.

Flo655

Been doing this myself with NBC Sports gold I think it's good value and easy to use with a VPN.

Sporthull

Anyone know if the uk rugby league is shown on any of those channels?

sddeckoff

two reasons - I use IPTV cos I can get access to US sports TV , and mainly, the sport shows. I love First take and the Herd, but no way I can access that without IPTV.

Also , as a West Ham fan, libing in Bulgaria there is slim to none chance to watch their games week in and week out. Here comes Canadian TVs to the rescue :)

I would legally pay if I can for the services I use (and I pay for Gamepass and WatchNRL)

Just signed up to to eleven Taiwan and picture quality is pretty poor. Maximum 1200kbps on their app.

For anyone that is still interested in the ElevenSports Taiwan method, they will have all 380 Premier League games from next season by the look of it. https://www.premierleague.com/news/692572

"Optus Sport is delivered using Adaptive Bitrate Streaming Technology at a resolution of up to 720p."

Seems like Optus is 720p only? Can OP confirm?

alhaq369

iptv subscription offers viewers the advantage of being in control of programs they want to watch ay whatever time they want to watch. They are not obligated to watch live TV being aired as they can select programs randomly and this is something that is impossible with other TV media platforms.

In the uk if I want to watch games from serie A, Ligue one, bundesliga, la liga and the premier league I need: sky sports, bt sport, eleven sports, premier sports. That’s 4 different subscriptions totally just over £1010 a year... notice I said games not all games. I would miss ALL 3PM kick off and miss the start of the el Classico if it’s televised between 3-5pm on Saturday due to the outdated broadcast rule.

Much easier to just pay IPTV and have access to all the games at a fraction of the cost. For the £1000+ a year I may as well go get an Arsenal season ticket if I didn’t live 4 hours away from London.

Hello guys. I offer IPTV services at an affordable price. Comes with 4000+ channels and 2000+ vod. If interested, hit me up. All football channels included

DnBTSE

Hello redditors! i first heard about Optus on hotukdeals but it was to much hassle so i left it. i currently using Vaders for all the football game their match center is brilliant! however do suffer from buffering issue and down moments so i am looking for a back up or a new source. What IPTV service do you guys use for all your 3pm kick off/ football matches?!

thanks!

Flo655

I cant find a way to cast to a Chromecast via the eleven sports teams app. Am I missing something or is it just not supported? The Optus app can do it.

adengfx

Doesn't ElevenSports TW require you to use a VPN to watch the streams? Thinking about getting this next season
