That remote is kind of ugly isn't it? Looks like it has the same layout as my MX3 remote.It works on my Android box, Formuler Z7+, I don't see why the MX3 shouldn't work on the Shield. Only thing I don't like about mine is the glossy finish which has a ton of finger prints and I wish I had gotten the backlit one instead.

I use that remote with my shield. Mine is branded 'weipoo', I think it's pretty good. You do have to push the TV button to swith to ir mode/use any programmed buttons. I have hdmi cec so just have it set to turn on TV and amp with a press of the OK button.
