New guy - Help with recording iptv?

by BigJustice1985

Hey all, I currently have gearstv with mayfair guide. But I cant record anything.

I dont care which iptv I use. I'd like Canadian, American, UK, and ppv events (I write for the ufc and need to be able to watch repeatedly). Ppv movies would be great, obviously less buffering and higher definition are great as well.

Nvidia shield.... please help.

Sincerely, Justin

? What exactly is your question? The IPTV provider you use has nothing to do with recording. What determines your ability to record or not is what APP you use to view your IPTV. The Nvidia shield can record natively, Google 'Nvidia Share recording' for starters. You can use many apps out there to record also like Smarters Pro, etc

android apps that record iptv to external sd card are:

Iptv smarters

Iptv Extreme

BKKRover

Write for the UFC but they don't give you fight pass for free?

honestiptv

recording with your device sir

BigJustice1985

Thank you guys. No free fight pass, but it's tax deductible, but that was just an example.

I apologize if my question came across silly or unclear.

I have the apps mentioned. When I load my iptv service, and then load extreme pro, for example, there is no way (that I know of) to begin recording. I use gears TV which comes in apk form, not m3u. But someone above said "that doesn't matter?" My reseller said there is no m3u etc for gearstv.

BigJustice1985

Ah, oops. I guess I was asking for advice on which iptv services would be compatible with my needs? If that isnt allowed, I apologize and please delete.

Sir, did you advise "Nvidia share recording" or a typo and meant "Nvidia shield recording"?

Respectfully
Justin.

Hi. Try using IPTV extreme for Nvidia Shield. That is what I use for my Nvidia Shield. If you have questions, PM me.

And yet we're occassionally given ringside media credentials (seating). Go figure. Fightpass wasn't that great when I had it. The ppv events weren't included and even the prelims would be blacked out where I live because they're aired on sports net, a local channel. I often wondered "what exactly am I paying for?" But even fightpass events that are aired couldn't be recorded without a method like what I'm looking for.

Hey Sean, Despite having obtain those apps in the hope that I would be able to use them for recording, no I've yet to determine a way in which I can run gearstv through extreme or smarters are players Pro for example. I might be mistaken, but I believe gears cannot be used through these players.

Dies anyone have insight for sage TV or tablo perhaps?

I'm unsure if tablo allows recording of whichever signal is passing through it to the television or if it is limited to recording over-the-air antenna channels? Does anyone happen to have any insight on that? Thank you so much once again :-) Sincerely, Justin

BigJustice1985

Really? You are a life saver lol, thank you so much. It isn't limited to ota antenna channels and/or number of tuners etc?

Thank you again Sean. :-)

I apologize if I wrote incorrectly. No, I haven't yet figured out how to use any apps other than the included mayfair guide with gearstv. And mayfair functions only as a TV guide; not offering any recording functionality that I'm aware of. They have recently added catchup TV, which of course, is very nice. But still isnt a pvr in the sense that a particular series can be set to record weekly and remain saved until manually deleted.

IPTV Extreme seemed to work for me but I didn't use it much as the IPTV service I use has catch-up channels. Also with IPTV Extreme you can set a timer like in the old days of VCRs, so if you wanted to record a certain channel at say 3am - 5am you can do that.

Thank you
