If IPTV is your main reason then i would suggest firestick 4k. Its better than those Chinese boxes. Install TV mate and you get a very slick experience. Shield is an overkill if IPTV is your only use. Been using firestick 4k for months now and its been solid.
If you need all the features or close enough features of a normal cable service, then a dedicated box is the way to go. Formuler, Dreamlink, Buzz or Mag devices gives you that

Get the h96 max plus from AliExpress. I bought one for $41 shipped. It comes with 4tb RAM and 32 gb storage. Stbemu and encore work great.

The best Android box out there is...drum roll...The Nvidia Shield. I have test a lot of different Android boxes out and the shield beats them by miles.
Shield is overrated. i had it for about 2 hours and returned to Best Buy. Remote control is just plain garbage, specially the volume touch sensitive sliders. You will never get the the exact amount, and on top of everything you will need to charge it. Then you will need to memorize key combination in order to fast forward, rewind etc. To power off tv Quickly tap Home + Back. They could not put a simple power button that does it all. Once the internal battery is gone, be prepared to spend almost half of what you paid for the unit.
Shield app, keyboard replacement is another garbage no copy/paste and not optimized for iOS devices.
In terms of hardware it’s good, but if you are not going to use it for gaming, then it’s worthless.
Firestick on the other hand is an amazing little device, backed up by Amazon, not like those cheap Chinese boxes, and it’s perfect for streaming. Remote is vey good, and let’s you control your tv, fire app another bonus, works very well, no need for keyboard.

Shield or Apple TV 4K
Best box, as everyone has said Nvidia Shield. Get the version with the 500 gb hard drive. You're fucking stupid if you are buying this just for IPTV, as it will not give you a great experience. For everything else though, it's awesome.
Save yourself the time and money fiddling with various Chinese boxes and other single board computers. Buy a Shield. I've tried everything from various "MXx boxes", Rpi3, pine 64, rock 64 and others I don't recall. I would have been money ahead if I bought 3 Shields (currently have 2, trying to justify a 3rd to replace the Rock64 in my bedroom). It's the Shield. It's always been the Shield.
