Vpn with iptv

by TallyOak

I've got Nordvpn in the uk, Had it a few months for general privacy browsing. We've only just subscribed to iptv last month and I've always connected via nord. I asked my provider if he recommends using the vpn and he said a direct NO! His reasoning that their servers will block my iptv service? Is this true? I always connect to uk severs so o cant see his problem. I don't want to use it without because if my isp sees the traffic they might block me. I'd love to hear if others connect via vpn?

if your provider says they will block you if you use a VPN, find a new provider. There are plenty to choose from that are VPN friendly. You also NEED a VPN if you are going to watch any football.

Get a new one, your current one is shitty.

Definitely you can use VPN with IPTV

FAB used to ask for you to enable the use of a VPN, once enabled, you had to always use a VPN to connect, other than that restriction, I’ve never heard of any IPTV that doesn’t allow VPN use. I’m in the UK and don’t use a VPN with my IPTV personally just due to speed drop, but like I said, I’ve never heard of a provider that simply doesn’t allow VPN connections, you should be fine, if not, switch provider.

Try turning On your VPN and see if your connection to the service still works. If not, then just turn it off again. If it's still working, you may want to see how your streaming is. Because sometimes the VPN slows down your IPTV connection and now you get buffering.

the first thing people should do is change their router/modem DNS to cloudflare or open dns. Do not use your ISP dns as they can still see what your doing and block content such as iptv.

some iptv do not like VPN and can kick you off their servers ... opendns/cloudflare dns always works

Vaders would occasionally give a Cloudflare DNS message saying VPN blocked (and this isn't a block from the ISP, this is from the IPTV provider themselves) when trying to access them. I haven't seen it in some time, maybe it was too much trouble (complaints maybe) for them than going without it. I think the reason they use it is because of restreamers, restreaming what we all know are already stolen streams, hah. VPN servers are shared, so if they have 10 users on the same VPN server they would want to see 10 IP addresses, but with VPN that doesn't happen, so paranoia maybe that there are 50 streams from 1 IP address (in the case of Vaders that allows 5 connections per account). But that couldn't be it, I could restream 1 channel for my neighborhood if I felt like it and they'd only see one stream, they wouldn't see the copy I'm making using my own resources. But anyways, it really will be provider dependent on how they do it or if they actually do it at all. With Vaders it seemed like it was select PIA VPN servers that were blocked, I simply switched to another server and it was working again.

I know helix allows VPN as I asked although never signed up. Eclipse doesn't allow it though which is a shame as it was the best I tested but never signed up.

Yea I would have never even asked my provider that question. In any event use the VPN it's your right to and fuck your ISP ;)
