Mysterious problem concerning SIPTV Smart App

by cena7577

Hi,

I have a huge mysterious problem. My SIPTV does not load any channel. It still loads the example list though.

IPS: UPC Austria

Here are the steps I've tried so far;

- Smart HUB and Factory Reset

- Shortend the bouqouet list

- Tried both m3u with options

- Re/De/Installed Smart IPTV App a dozen times, rebooted TV a dozen times

- Tried via iPhone 4G

- DNS Changes

- Rebooted IPS Router

- resetted the line

Line working fine. Tried it using VLC/Kodi/Perfect Player. But it just wont work on TV...

I have a working IPTV line at my parents TV which is connected with the same network. But I have not configured it, yet dont know the person who did it. But it works. So I dont think my IPS blocks IPTV.

Best regards,

cena

SIPTV is MAC dependent. Have you purchased/registered the second installation?

Register MAC at the website.

Samsung has blocked the smart iptv in many regions for some TV Models. I believe 2015 and newer. If your Smart IPTV APP updated recently then that is the issue. Its no longer usable

No known fix at the moment. Best advise is to download and use the SMART STB APP or just get another device

Any solutions?

Just FYI...

Did a lookup and found a news article on this via the 'aerialview.tv' site (don't like linking sites as a JIC - just do a lookup for 'SmartIPTV app has been banned' and should find the article), and Samsung set their update service to fully remove, and ban, the SIPTV app across the board (other TV manufacturers may be doing the same soon as well), due to an infringement complaint from a Spanish company called MediaPro a few mnths ago. They blamed the "app" directly. Samsung tried to explain this wasn't correct/the issue, but MediaPro just sent the accusation, then refused to respond to any other correspondence, so...

Only option noted in the article was, "If you're a user of Smart IPTV and you use it via your Samsung TV, the best thing you can do right now would be turn off the automatic software updates from Samsung"

I still have the app on my older TV (2014), but I switched to a Fire TV stick (which I love), as I found SIPTV never worked with the EPG, and then stopped working with my providers links (only worked with an m3u file). To be honest, I know you paid for SIPTV, but based on the article, and from the downhill slope with it failing more and more over the final weeks I was using it, I'd (IMHO) just accept/take the loss and move away from that app sooner rather than later (that and there may not be a workaround).

Not sure what others can attest to as far as working within a budget, but as I said, I now use the Fire TV Stick with the Kodi app and it works great (for me anyway). I got mine on sale (it's not the 4K one, so prob why was on sale ;-) for $30 CA, but it's only $50 CA regular (4K one is $70), so not too bad a price.

Anyway, just my two cents FYI. Hope whichever way you go works out (or you find a solution).
