Ideal Setup possible?

Was wondering if the ideal set up is possible and how to achieve it?

Good schedule UI. Not too slow to load. Maybe even allow sorting.
Allow dvr like recording
No local channels? I might be willing to give up on this.

Are there any set ups that allow this? Currently using vaderstreams with Emby and iPlayTV on Apple TV. I would of liked having everything in Emby but the Guide UI is horrible. Emby at least allows me to hook up VPN on my Emby server. iPlayTV is great but don't see a way to record. Can't hook up a VPN easily but maybe not a big issue. I also don't like the possibility that iPlayTV might get banned if Apple ever decides to remove iPTV apps.

Are there any solutions for this ideal setup of mine?

Ditch your Apple TV and get a Z7+ or a Z8 (update late in march will make it fully functional). Seriously when are you people going to learn that Apple TV is shit for pirating media.

Formuler box will do what you want. Z7 or Z8.

Enigma2 gives you everything you want but you’d have to work for it.

Do they have Progtv on Apple TV? I know I have it on my iPhone XS Max. I used to use it on my Shields for Vader’s and it has catchup and dvr capability.

If you want recording unfortunately I think Emby is your best bet. I love the layout of iplaytv but the lack of recording made me suck it up with emby lol it’s not too bad once you get the epg set up properly and get used to it. I use both Vaders and beast but I find beast has a much better epg if you use the xml instead of the emby one.

What about the Emby UI didn't meet your needs?

I am asking because the grid based EPG is typically what people are looking for.
