If your smart tv has SS IPTV or SmartIptv or a stb emulator app available then you can just use the tv.
if is your smart tv have option add app you can down load SmartIptv app or a stb emulator app
Posted this on another subreddit, so just in case it's useful...
Saw an article on 'aerialview.tv' site (don't like linking sites as a JIC - just do a lookup for 'SmartIPTV app has been banned' and you should find it) , and Samsung (and possibly a few other TV brands soon to follow) has set their updates to remove, and ban, SIPTV.
Is due to a Spanish media company (MediaPro) accusing the "app" with infringement. Samsung tried to contact/explain that's not how this app (or any app) works, but they just blasted out the accusation, then ignored/refused any further correspondence, so SS just took the safe road and went with removing/banning it. If you still have the app, it WILL work, but for how long... (???)
Just to note - even before I found that article, I was using SIPTV as well, but (IMHO) it didn't work all that great in the first place (EPG never worked for me, provider links would - then wouldn't - work, then only an m3u file worked, had to reload the links/file every other wk, lag/buffer issues, etc.), so I started researching other options that didn't break the bank.
In the end I chose (and really like) the Fire TV Stick (non-4K one) with Kodi and it works really great, and easy to add favs to (just hover over channel, hit Menu button on remote and choose 'Add to Favs'). I got mine on sale (prob cuz non-4K) for $30 CA, but reg is only $50 anyway (4K is $70). Also, if you don't like Kodi, there's piles of other apps to choose from (Perfect Player, Tivimate, Smarters - to name a few), including any direct apk from your provider (if they offer it - the good ones do). You can also use (if you have one) your own media server apps (Emby, Plex)
Anyway, just an FYI on the direction (or so it sounds) SIPTV is going.
Cheers and happy streaming

If your tv can install iptv apps a streaming device wont be necessary.
