[HELP] Developer searching Ideas for an Advanced M3U Editor

by lKinder_Bueno

Hi!

I'm developing a little tool (for windows) to help all of you better editing your M3U and Xtream List without paying yearly fees. I had this idea when I decided to add logos on my m3u list, but I discovered there was no tool for automatic adding image.

I will try to add as much features I can.

This is the feature it will have (for now)

  • Lifetime subscription
  • (done) Basic channel editing (as logo, channel url, name, group)
  • (done) Drag and Drop for moving single and multiple channels (for a more natural sorting)
  • (done) Duplicate Channels
  • (done) Automatic logo finder (It has a precision of 70-80%) and it can improved with some manual settings) (if you have 1000 local channels as me it will really save your life)
  • Searching and remove offline channels
  • Automatic remove VODs
  • Automatic notify if there are new channels added
  • Automatic assign TVID name for as easier EPG matching
  • More EPG source
  • Upload your list online (it is required a free registration to a hosting website. No one will ever have access to your list)
  • Modern UI

I don't know if it will be a "Pay as you want" (you can have a full lifetime access for 0.01$ or 1 billion$) or a little price as 5-7$ (lifetime access). The fees are for giving me a little help me for paying university.

So here I comes for the main thing:

How do you thing I can call the tool? Do you have any features request? Do you think price is too high/low ?

How do you do the hosting bit? I've also thought of making a program like this.
Great that you're actually doing it.

Can you add more than one M3U?

I would definitely recommend investigating a way to make this cross platform. Limiting to just windows will alienate a large portion of the potential market for you

  1. An auto rename for lists like USA: A&E HD, USA: ABC HD, USA: AMC HD, etc. I erase any instance of "USA: " (With the space included) very annoying to see that when you're trying to recreate the cable experience. I do this with Notepad++ right now and global erase any instance of whatever I wanna get rid of.
  2. Maybe different sort options, like ABC order in a category, Discovery Channel 1/3 of the way up the list and then Discovery Science near the bottom of 100 channels.
  3. Make it $5-7USD/year, cause even though it's not hosted by you, you are creating a tool to compete with xtreme-editor's $15USD/year. Especially if you add your own EPG.
  4. Name it something simple, maybe one word? Or no spaces? BuenoM3U

Here's something that may help on the hosting side, I upload my lists onto Google Drive and paste over it any changes I want, so any changes I make to that list are seen through that same link on all my players. I can connect to that list through a direct download (instead of download page) that looks like this https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx This list has worked on VLC, Perfect Player, MyTVOnline, TiviMate, pretty much anything I've tried it on, I don't know if DropBox or another would work the same.

Xtream editor epg only uses 1 (its own ) source; maybe somehow incorporate additional sources for epg??

(This wasn’t original post for what I was looking for. Hope this helps and I’d you can implement some of this)

I’m looking for something like iptv link checker but with more features.

Something that will check my m3u/m3u8 file and sort the bad link then give me an option to remove them all at once. Also I would like to be able to remove duplicate links. Plus it should be able to rename them if the channel number is the same. So if you have 2 that are labeled 3 it would change the number.

Basically this but also just to have one main list which is what this would be. That you could just keep adding to instead of having to have all kinds of links. Basically just one huge ongoing list that you could make corrections to and just keep adding to.

Does something like this even exists?
