Is IPTV dying / dead?

by MRJSP

A few year ago I started with IPTV services. There were a bunch of really good options around. I mainly used them for sports and I loved SportsMania and FAB.

When FAB closed down I couldn't find a adequate replacement despite trying out several different recommended providers here. They all had big issues so I just have lived without IPTV but I miss it. I'm looking around again to see what's out there and the state of play seems to be very bleak to me.

Am I just looking in the wrong place here or have they all but killed off IPTV services?

Yes it's dying and you should stick with legit only services where you pay an arm and leg for channels that you will never watch! /s

When FAB closed I switched to Helix and cant really see much difference.

I started using iptv 8 months ago and I won't go back to cable/satellite every again. Iptv is alive and strong, every couple of weeks I find another new iptv service to try. The best iptv are doing everything to keep quiet. Meaning you have to really look for them and take free trials to test which service works best for your setup

Anova has been solid for a while

Best advice I can give is find an unknown IPTV service, trial them and once you stumble across a good one that’s not plastered all over Reddit, keep it to yourself and buy no more than 3months at a time to minimise any loss should they close abruptly. Been doing this for a year with two very good providers and haven’t had any issues with PPV or EPL games

I got into IPTV with Fab about a year and a half ago and they were great. I've tried a couple since they shut down but finally (and luckily) got into two reliable services. SmoothStreams (one of the 3 services) are all still running reliably for years. I currently use Firestarter along with a SS sub and it's been great so far. There are reliable services out there. Just gotta keep an eye out.

Fab was awesome, my first IPTV service, was gutted when it shut down. But now Im with Smoothstreams and it is even better.

I use sportz.tv. It’s like 7000+ channels from all around the world. It’s pretty reliable for the most part, but it’s not free.

There are more Iptv resellers and providers than ever before. It's a headache and trial and error process finding the right one. It's like bargain shopping at discount stores finding the cheapest and most reliable service out there.

Well if you want terrestrial audiovisual quality.. iptv is not and never will be Yes cardsharing , cccam are still around and personally wish I had something like that with a dish 15 years ago with a pirate card was a joy to watch high quality feeds sat channels

Legion123abc

No and no.

Definitely not dying or dead. Yes, FAB's demise left a hole that is still felt but that only happened 6 months ago. The service that fills that hole may not have presented itself as of yet.

Or maybe there won't be another FAB and you'll have to find more than 1 service to cover your needs which I highly recommend if you can afford it. Having a backup is always good practice

/r/SmoothStreamsTV has been killing it for me for the past 4yrs. I just added Eternal TV last yr and I've been good.

Im confused. The whole point of me getting the 4k firestick was to watch tv channels for free. I hear a lot of paying being done here for that...anybody explain?

chrispy1973

Not every provider is advertised to the point of over subscription on Reddit and Ebay, in a lot of cases this is how they remain reliable. My advice would be to broaden your search horizons and not just limit yourself to providers advertised / spammed on the usual sources.

If you can't find anything then you must assume it's dead.

ex-Fabber here too. For me Helix is great. Support is excellent and channels work exceptionally well in Perfect Player or Smarters IPTV app.

Been happy with Coolasice.co last 4 months, about same channel structure and Sports Center as FAB used to have, good support, nice guys.

IPTV is working ok, some have Footie blocks and need vpn, some have sorted that issue and no need for vpn.

Not dying in any way shape or form. I have a few subscriptions and all of them are alive and well. Sounds like you aren't looking in the right places.

If IPTV is dying, it's because of sports. Meathead clients are worth a couple hundred dollars a month to the cable company, and by extension, the leagues. They would be foolish to let pirate TV continue on. I currently pay $8 a month for TVzon, and I am publicly stating that I will pay extra to any other provider with equal quality who doesn't have any sports channels.

Sports channels are why IPTV providers go down.

Just a humble newbs note...

The one thing that is posted almost every time ( besides the shills) when someone asks...

  • Q: "What is/are the best IPTV provider(s)?"
  • A: "Do a web lookup of IPTV providers, research which ones keep popping up (and/or that you deem as good/worthy), and then get trials from a few of them. "

...then commit to/pick the one(s) you like from a now informed decision ;-)

IPTV aint dying, it will be strong everyday. And yes, you have been looking wrong places, and reason of that is too much IPTV providers and most of them is very very poor quality, lack of customer help etc. If looking good and stable service pm me.
