Recording like Tivo on IPTV

by snerney

Good day folks.. I'm trying to move off of Tivo and cable and into IPTV with a method of recording. Some great help on the forums here from all. One thing I'm missing though, is there a player tool that allows me to set a specific series to be recorded in the future each time a new show is on similar to Tivo?

Tvheadend server is the first thing that came to mind.

Formuler Z8 if you would like to record. Best device to record from and its extremely easy. You can schedule recordings, play them back, rewind, fast forward etc.. You can even delete them from your drive right inside of MyTvOnline app that comes with the device.

You could set up an Emby server at your home. It supports IPTV and digital recording (with the premium subscription, which is like $5 a month). The only requirement is that the guide is up-to-date and correct (haven't had an issue with all the IPTV providers I've tried), as that's what it uses to set the recording times, etc.

yeah, good point, but I'm also trying to overcome the laziness that Tivo allows for turning it on and all the shows are already there waiting for you.

The nice thing about the above stated apps is the commercials are usually already removed.

IPTV is all based on catchup. For instance we store it on our systems and then you retrieve the show you want.

The only thing you will ever need to record is sports. The iptv smarters app will allow recording of IPTV services. Your device needs lots of space. Anything besides sports can be found on Cinema, cyberflix or bee tv. (All three are basically the same content just all about your preferred interface).
