Question on service response

by techjeep

Decided to make the switch to IPTV. I wanted to see what worked best for me (Nvidia shield, gigabit internet) and set up four trials. (Leaving names of providers off as to not sway response).

Right off the bat, one of the providers never sent login credentials. Using the creds from the other three, one seemed to lag pretty bad. The other two worked well, I just liked the grouping in one the best and signed up for a month of service.

This morning I get all of the "your trial had ended" emails. I decided to let the one that never sent credentials know that I never got them and therefore went with another provider. The response was "That's on you for not opening a ticket, you'll be back". The response pretty much makes me want to take them out of any future running.

My question is, am I alone in thinking that if I there's a problem even creating the account that the rest of the service is going to be problematic?

IMO if you don’t change your attitude about these companies you’re in for a boatload of disappointment. They are not designed to hand hold you thru all the steps. As the last poster stated, they are usually very small operations. If they didn’t follow up with you right away they were prolly busy keeping the system running well on the user end. You’re not hurting their feelings because you ran into an issue on your end during your signup. I’m sure this comes across as brash, it’s just the facts of doing business with most of these operations. It’s not for everyone. The one you took off your list could very well be the best of the 4 and you may have just alienated them. You’re going to need a degree of self trouble shooting or your cable company may be your best option. Best of luck.

Many of these services are not big operations with multiple staff, and bearing in mind that time differences can cause issues, it's reasonable to allow up to 24 hours to get service details.

Having said that, a rudish arrogant-ish response like you got doesn't bode well for the future.

Personally, I’m not a fan of short trials. I generally pick up a month’s sub in my price range and see how they go.

Issues with streams I watch, resolution speed (I know others have said that a number are small operations but my current provider is small and has excellent service).

Also, ask for recommendations on the numerous IPTV subs. Stipulate things like budget, channel requirements and service expectations.

No service is like the cable or satellite providers but you’re also not paying the same amount.

I myself just sign up for a month. I'm mean the most expensive was $14.95.. That way you get the whole experience from start up and then you can rate the service, streaming etc.

If you bought something from Amazon and they never sent the item, and then they told you it was your fault for not telling them that they failed, how would you react for? Would you ask for your money back?

Most sellers resell the same group of channels/sources, they all use the same apps, there isn't too much difference other than ratio of users to servers = buffering and customer service. I've tried to find higher quality soccer than my main provider offers, but wasted money as the "competitors" offer up the exact same "alternatives". Buy from someone who has a support forum of some sort.

Give me a PM, we have over 50K subs, VOD, 50/60 fps channels, 19 servers across the US, direct local channels (not shared restreams) just to give your an idea of what we offer. I won't name any names either but you definitely have to experiment and try out quite a few before making a decision. ( I've tried at least 25-30 over the years) There are a LOT out here and you have to find what works for you. With that being said, I would be more than happy to help you find what you are looking for.

You're the type of customer I wouldn't want to have. You're not hurting anyone's feelings.
