One app better than another?

by pollorojo

I picked up an Android TV box and have been trying a few apps. What do you guys prefer as far as apps go? I’m open to suggestions.

The main 2 I’ve been using are GSE and Smarters, but with everything exactly the same, I get buffering after a few minutes on basically every stream with Smarters, but I can immediately switch to GSE and I don’t see the same issues.

Any ideas or preferences? Is there a totally different app I should try?

Edit: you guys have given me a ton of great options, so I’ll start looking into those (and any others that come up). Sounds like I’m going to be in good shape pretty soon.

iptvsmarters there is hardware or software decoding you can switch them when watching a live stream .. click on ok .. then move over to HW and click on that.

I found software mode causes buffering on iptv smarters so choose hardware mode instead.

Also there is a new iptv smarters update released 14th april which people have said is causing buffering more than it should so try an earlier version of it and do not hit update.

Another free app you can try is IPTV Extreme ..

with these apps they work good for me on wired connection so forget wifi unless you got line of site with the modem/router.

clearing the cache of the programs now and then also seems to help

both these apps allow recording as well

I personally like tivimate premium. Well worth the $5 a year. Great dev support and makes viewing look just like regular cable. Very quick and full featured.

I use a app provided by my service, its not a smarter rebranded app either.
Ask your provider if they have any apks for their service, it may work better for you
