How can I avoid entering m3u URL`s into device software?

by Tharayman

Is there some clever way than one can get around the horrendous, tedious task of entering long URLs into Kodi, IPtv software or whatever? Feels like it takes forever using the TV remote or the shield controller!

Android TV app

Copy and paste from phone.

I use a self-hosted url shortener so I only have to put in a small url. Also means that if I change service I just have to change the url on the shortener rather than each device.

Copy past or shortener

Yeah either an android app to just copy and paste in, or a URL shortener. Self plug, but my M3U filter shortens the URL for you, so that might make your life easier :) http://iptv-filter.now.sh

Put the m3u it to tinyurl.com

2 options:

  • Use a URL shortener that is 1 time use to prevent the details ever leaking
  • Use an app that doesn’t need the M3U but just the beginning and user/pass like Smarters or XCIPTV.

If you arnt using your phone as a remote(kore) to enter text into kodi you are doing it wrong. Android TV remote works to but i find Kore is alot more polished and worked better in kodi.

Download the. M3u file and import it into kodi. I know simple iptc client allows this.

Bullshit .. a good provider does not do that every week .. they stick with wgat they have ! And if there is a update you get a mail and you do the downl thing again it takes about 2sec iso typing crap !

Let me tell you how it is done Open the m3u in a browser and there wil be a downl. Open kodi and use iptv simple and point to the file you have downl with the browser. Thats it forget all the other story s !
