Easy to use IPTV

by ILuvMikeHunt

My almost 70 yr old mother-in-law is not exactly the most technologically savvy person. She cannot grasp the user interface for Vader's.

For somebody who has relied on cable for decades, what would be an easy to use, IPTV provider? Her device is the Amazon Fire stick.

Nothing special needed, just a reliable service, to get US Channels.

Use the m3u list from Vader's and use it with tivimate.

Sylocule

It’s not the service, but the app. A good UI and UX is what makes a good service.

I don’t know what app Vaders rebrand but if you get a M3U link from them, try:

  • XCIPTV
  • TiviMate
  • STBEmu
  • Perfect Player
  • Smarters

Also, in any of these apps, set up a list of favourites she can scroll through. For example, XCIPTV let’s you scroll up and down through the channels of the group you’re in. Not sure about the others.

Skyscreamers

Gears it’s easy and simple and fairly reliable

Vaders app is absolute crap. If you go too fast trying to do things it always crashes.

Gears tv with mayfair

TiviMate would probably be the best bet. You can hide all the groups she would not use, set all the channels she watches into favorites.

Get some Android TV device, for simplicity I would say a Android TV television, then install the TVirl app and load your .m3u playlist into it. She will watch the TV channels using the normal TV interface of your TV set and change channels using the Up and Down buttons, my mom is set like that and has zero issues.

(I know you have a Fire Stick, but this is just so much more easy to operate)

Tivimate recently had an update to fix the scrolling on the guide. It is my favorite app to use.

Keep it as simple as possible. Op has stated the requirements are to be as easy to use as possible... Stop telling him to use apps that have only recently hit the market and WILL require future updates such as Tivimate. The easiest app for them to use, that will be more like there previous cable company Will be STB EMULATOR PRO.

Dreamlink is great. A mag box for keeping it simple too. Provider wise, ipguys, Ok2, maybe Epic/voodoo.

That’s the most cablelike experience that you will get
