Best Device For My Situation

by arich35

Hello again helpful people!

My wife and I are officially switching to IPTV. We have different schedules and a newborn so recording is a big deal for us so I am looking for the best box for our needs.

  • Recording features (pause, rewind, fast forward, recording 2+ programs at once)
  • Micro SD card if needed for external storage
  • Just used for IPTV specifically
  • Ethernet connection
  • Easy to use guide similar to what you see with cable/satellite
  • Trying to stay at or under $100 if possible
  • Reliable
  • Easy to use for wife/others

You can get nvidia shield or apple tv 4k , ok they are expensive boxes but you can expand your needs more than iptv , in your situation, with nvidia shield you can have proper VOD with plex/emby shares . Chinese boxes are not worthy really even thought they are on your budget limit, just my opinion and may be wrong , but the future of ilegal iptv is uncertain

If your wanting all those features you are going to have to up your budget. The Dreamlink T2 Prime or Formuler Z7+ or if you want the latest and greatest, the Formuler Z8. These boxes give one of the best experiences that is the closest you will get to cable/sat. There is no point in buying a shield when the only thing you will be doing is watching IPTV.

Not sure if you are aware but most providers offer something called catchup. Basically you can watch TV shows after it has aired (usually within a few hours). The problem with what you want, aside from the hard drive space is iptv and dvr (while you are not watching it) don't mix well. There is no program that I know of, that you can dvr from an iptv. Look for a provider that offers catch up. Gl 😊

I made the switch from Android to Enigma2 and not looking back. You get that cable feel as it is a satellite box. You can do everything you asked for all for around $100.

The set up is a little but more involved but it's really not that hard and once it's set up you're golde.

If you want the most cable like experience you with all the above you mentioned you need the formuler zx

Or dreamlink t2

Skyscreamers

Under 100 not going to be possible

You won't find anything that will let you record two plus shows at once on a IPTV device.

There is no contest here if its IPTV only a formuler Z7/Z8 is the only call

They are a straight out of the box close to cable experience and most importantly wife friendly. Recording is an option but as already suggested get a provider who offers catch up (you wont need to record anything)

You will pay over your budget for the Z8 but its well worth the initial investment also the savings made from cancelling any cable/satellite subscription will quickly offset the cost

Here are my thoughts...get a decent box like a FireTV or a Mi TV box S.

Either can be had under your budget amount.

Forget recording. You don't need it. Instead install Cyberflix to your device.

All of your TV shows or movies are already there. All of your Netflix and Hulu are there too.

Youtube installation process for Cyberflix.

IPTV services vary. What country's channels are you interested in? I have three different IPTV services.

I decided to give the Dreamlink Dlite a try, seems to be a good box just for IPTV for around $80.
