I need your help and feedback building a new IPTV Player for iOS

by tiagomartinho

Hello everyone at /r/IPTV, my name is Tiago and I developed an iOS app for watching IPTV movies, Movie Stream - Easy IP TV Film. I believe this community is a great place to share my work and would like to receive your feedback and help.

Right now I’m at version 6.0, and the app includes features like Search, Playlist Refresh, iCloud Sync, Picture-in-Picture & Airplay Support.

The app is completely free, if you like (and only if you want) you can donate inside the app to support future development.

Right now I’m working by myself on the project since the beginning of this year.

I’m thinking on adding Chromecast support and IMDb integration for the following versions.

What do you think? Do want to help me shaping the future development? What do you think the app does well and what it is still lacking?

How do we download this app?

I would love if you could do an Apple TV version. I don't really like using Airplay because I always have playback issues.

Downloaded it, works pretty well so far. Will use it and see how I like it.

I’ve just downloaded it and had a look. Works well. Here’s what I look for:

  • Groups - needs to be easier to select a group to see the channels in the group as opposed to all on the same page. Some providers have thousands of channels.
  • Ability to favourite channels
  • Ability to hide groups and channels

I'll try it (in a day or two). Plus I'll share my wife's feedback who is a tad techno changed.

This is cool, and I'm probably going against the grain though when I say this...

I wouldn't waste your talent or time building this for ios. Apple has far too many restrictions, and more popular your app gets its just a matter of time before Apple rips it out of the appstore making your app available to jailbroken devices only.

Don't quote me on the numbers, but android now dominates 70 percent of the market now anyways, so I think your effort is better spent developing on a different OS.

Again, this is just my opinion. I've developed an android app (non iptv related) and there have been some requests to bring it to ios, but at this point in the game it's just not feasible.

Apple is the new RIM in my opinion. Just a matter of time.
