Do you live in Australia ?

by jamieqld

Hi All.

I live on the East coast of Australia.

I have tried many IPTV providers and find I still get lots of buffering.

I have a Nvidia shield getting internet from the router at 1 gigabit. (Lan)

Im on a 50/20 FTTN NBN plan ( however im going gold 100/40 next week)

My speed test today is 47 down, 15 up, 5ms ping.

I have used the SD, HD, and FHD channels, they can play fine for 30 mins, then start to buffer or just stop.

I can play Youtube and Netfix in 4k no problem.

Could you please reply with what IPTV provider you use and internet connection speed.

Looking forward to what you all say.

Thanks

jamie

Also in Aus. Things that make a huge difference to performance:

  1. HLS instead of TS (not all providers offer this)

  2. Wired ethernet connection instead of wifi

  3. The app you choose. Install lots to try them out (Smarters, tivimate, Perfect Player)

  4. Network congestion with your ISP. I've started to have problems in peak evening time in the last 2-3 weeks having never had a problem in the last 2 years.

  5. IPTV provider. Those with local servers tend to be more reliable. Let them know your issues by a support ticket. The good providers might be able to troubleshoot/force you to a different server.

Going to 100/40 should make a big difference to stability if you're on an ISP with decent CVC. See how you go next week before doing anything rash.

One big problem is international peering. Most NBN providers get almost 100mbps locally but not overseas.

Do a Speed test to London. Do you get 50-60mpbs or more? If not then it's gonna buffer.

BTW I'm with Telstra cable and it works fine. My download speed is about 110mbps.

It could be your iptv provider which I always blame if you have a NBN with a good internet speed .

Hi mate, i had exactly the same problem as you until i switched to Aussie broadband. There overseas speeds are the best there are. I recently tried changing ISP because my promotion was up and the buffering was back and then i came back to Aussie broadband. No buffering anymore. Definitely try Aussie broadband.

No, but I wish...

Hi All,

Thank you for the reply.

My ISP is Internode, will see how I go next week when I upgrade to 100/40. I will have to look at the Backhaul setup they use.

I have already tried TS to M3u8 same problem.

Im already on a LAN cable not wifi.

My IPTV provider is FAST.IPTV, I have tried at least 6 others, non have servers in AU, all seem to be USA/Netherlands based.

I have tried many different player, Im now using Tivimate Premium, very nice app.

My Router is a Fritz box 7490, I was told this is one of the best you could get at the time ( 1 year ago )

Just had a look at Aussie BB, might try them if I still get problems next week.

If anyone has a service with very little buffering in Australia, could you please reply with your ISP and IPTV provider.

Thanks

jamie

I just did a test with www.meter.net

From Brisbane Qld To:

New York ping =225ms, Download = 6.8MBps

London ping=328ms, Download= 2.8MBps

LA ping 204ms, Download 6.6MBps

My iptv server is http://s1.finoip.com

they are in New York.

will see what I get over the next few days when internode change me to 100mb D/L speed.

will give a report next week

My NBN connection is 85/35 and for the majority of the time I get very little buffering.

I use HLS and VLC as the external player. Works well on my Android boxes and tablet.

Update

Hi All,

Im now on my new NBN plan 100/40, im getting 85/32 to local ISP.

The great news, My FAST.IPTV has almost no buffer over the last 2 days.

I did change Nvidia Shield buffer size to very large also.

I would say 96% non buffer on all channels, if it does buffer, its only once for 1 second.

Very happy now.

www.phuketiptv.com already have iptv working in aus

dougfisher19

you need to speed test overseas not locally, if you are on TPG or myrepublic you will most likely have congestion issues at night

mrkingpin007

I am on adsl2 with 9mbps on speed tests .. and I can watch full hd 1080p channels no issues.

it sounds like your iptv sux .. it all depends on where their servers are located... one thing it might be is the isp dns your using as they can might have a filter that blocks some iptv.

I would also try using a different app as well such as IPTV smarters

I am using a cheap 1gbram v88 android box wired connection.

I am using a cheap iptv off ebay but I also have some websites with nrl and afl channels for $55aud a year ..

I will send you a message with them and get a 24 free test before buying..
