Want to add security camera feeds to my paid IPTV subscription m3u list.

by stevenssupertech

I would like to view my security cameras as channels in perfect player or emby. Anyone know how to emulate a IPTV channel and add it to m3u list? Any transcoding or other software needed? What video/audio format is IPTV in? Any help appreciated. I have tried to stream from VLC with a m3u list created by Vlc with no luck.

Xstream editor allows you to merge lists. This way you can give your merged lists to your IPTV player of choice.

Not going to lay it all out but I would look into: How a M3U file is formatted (text editor).. Saving the M3U in a way it can be pulled by xstream editor (google Drive???).. Router NAT ports from the LAN to your WAN (this would only be needed if you are trying to view feeds from family members Internet)..

I never done this but can see it as doable. Most cameras send the feed as mp4. Most IPTV is mpeg2 but most IPTV players should have no issues with MP4.

One side note: Most secure consumer cameras with internet abilities are cloud only. Meaning only their own servers get the video feed (e.g. Ring). This is due to the fact that IP cameras that can exposed to the internet are often week in security measures (default passwords, easy exploits, etc.). For example I only use Ring. Not because I don’t know how to restrict IP traffic, VPN, etc. but knowing ring is doing all they can research wise to never have on the news “Ring cameras exposed for the public viewing”.
