Scanning M3U

by yensid1966

I'm looking for a tool which will scan my m3u file to check if it is up or not. Also I would like it to show the resolution and codec.

I've looked at both http://www.iptvtools.net (don't trust an online tool) and IPTV Checker only tells me it is online.

Does anyone know of a tool that will do this?

Thanks

The website has gone up and down some time now, dying site? But I was using SimpleTV from: http://www.plstonline.org/ which I don't know wtf the website is doing right now. I think this is where I downloaded it when I couldn't get it from their website: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Internet-Radio-TV-Player/SimpleTV.shtml

You can load your playlist, highlight a whole section, or all of it, right click and find the scan button. It will scan one by one and then you can filter for it to show all the dead links and you can delete them, or move them to their own category if you want. Helped me create a list from links gathered on pastebin.com Warning though, you can forget about EPG data and logos as it gets rid of them and just keeps the basics, the name and link, I don't know if there is a way to change that.

Are you a developer? I wrote something that does this for myself personally and can share that functionality (I add resolution and framerate to my channel names and recreate the M3u).

id be careful with scanning. some sources will block your ip if you scan too quickly.
