I’ve downloaded Helix on Kodi as I’m a noob at this and found it’s the easiest way , on the VOD how can I find the latest movies as it only shows by categories , whilst I’m here is Kodi the best way to watch TV on it ?

The movies in the VOD are just an extra. Helix is mainly for IPTV If you want a decent VOD service I would recommend a plex or emby share.
Personally I wouldn't use Kodi for IPTV even tho the Helix add-on works well.
If you're using an Android based device I'd use an Android app like IPTV Extreme or even the Helix app which works OK.
If you're using Windows I'd look at VLC.
If you're set on using Kodi tho I'd look at r/Addons4Kodi and install addons which give you VOD.
