I've just tried a bunch of trials and find Helix to be best for my needs. They have my local channels, a good EPG, and really good streams of US channels. I just streamed the Game of Thrones finale perfectly with not a single millisecond of buffering. Other services I used crashed or buffered to the point where it was unwatchable on regular episodes. I haven't really experienced buffering on any other channels either other than a few short times. I feel like other cable streaming services would buffer more than this. Haven't checked out the sports channels, but I'd assume they'd be good as well.

I am a noobie also, and this is my experience. As others have said get as many trials as you can to see what works best for you.
