I've been playing with a few DVR or PVR solutions for IPTV with varying degrees of sucess. Mostly my success has hinged on how much terminal work is required to get them up and running.
I just came across the TV Mosaic app which lets you record your IPTV programs in original quality directly to the local hard disk of your PC, Mac, Ubuntu Desktop, Raspberry Pi or NAS without any terminal work at all.
I did a quick search on r/IPTV and didn't find any posts explicitly calling this out, so I though I'd post to help out some other people with a limited command line skill set like mine.
I have a Mac, and it was an easy install, download from thier website:
Mount the DMG, click install, plug in your IPTV M3U link, and EPG link, and then set the directory for your recordings. All done in the GUI, with no command line steps at all.
There's an IOS, Android and Apple TV app you can use to select which shows to record. You can view live IPTV through the same app also if you'd like.
Edit:
Here is a Youtube video showing the setup:
Nice find. Thanks for sharing.
