Currently using an android tv box and having to use 2 remotes is annoying. The cheap (and crappy!) Remote that came with my android box isn't easy to use either. Considering moving to smart STB app (on a Samsung 7series) and ditch the box altogether.
Is it worth the price?

Samsung 8 and 9 series have the ability to pair the setup box remote as long as the setup box has STB/SAT buttons so you can use STB remote for both. Not sure about the 7 series.
Smart STB is nice and the Stalker Portal UI is lovely. Remember that Smart STB settings like buffer size .... does not work.
Get the 7 days trial version and see if you like it.
I wouldn’t do that. I just switched from that to android box. Believe me box is a lot better. I know 2 remotes are painful as hell, i know some boxes are compatible with Samsung smart remote. I’m a happy customer using shield, got mine for 70£ from ebay no controler and remote it was a bargain. Suggest you start looking for something similar or other android box that can be controlled by samsung remote u won’t regret it . I payed for smart stb and smart iptv apps and they good in the beginning after some time u will see that they are actually sucks.
I use Smart STB on my Samsung 6 series 4k UHD and don't have any problems with it. I have also used different IPTV service providers.
I use Smart-stb... Generally has been okay to work wi5h... Haven't figured out how to get subtitles working on it or the catch up working tho
Smart-STB uses stalker middleware for a very effective user interface, the best we have seen, and the app has matured and after a few months hiccups about 6 months ago, the app is very stable now. IPTVFUTURE.COM recommends for all Samsung and LG Smart TVs. One off fee approx 30USD is great value. No extra cables or box needed and can use the remote of the TV. Highly recommended and defo the best app out there for IPTV soultions.
