60 FPS VS 30 FPS

by loic88

Hi guys

I was wondering is it better to have 1920 x 1080 25 FPS or 1280 x 720 60 FPS ?

sports or any video with fast moving objects will look better with 60 fps vs 25 fps. So for sports channels 720p 60fps is what I would choose over 1080i 25fps. Even business news channels with stock tickers rolling in the bottom will look better with 60 fps instead of 25 fps. 1080i 25fps will look little better for most of the standard TV shows, compared to 720p 60 fps.

For me , higher frames is almost always better, even at the expense of a higher resolution. It ultimately comes down to preference though, and the type of content you watch.

In general the bitrate of the stream is more important than the resolution/frame rate. However if the bitrate is equal then the higher frame rate will give you a better quality picture, particularly for sport and fast moving movie sequences.

I'll take the frame rate increase every time. That jerky feeling to low frame rates is much worse than a lesser resolution.

1280 x 720 60fps is way better than 1920 x 1080 25fps.

With 60fps you have feeling it's really right front of you and everything looks so real.

30fps is fine for tv shows or any news or studio sports show. But actual sport itself has to be 60fps..particular soccer, hockey where you have longer range passing with the ball/puck. You could say basketball is ok for 30fps i guess.

Legion123abc

For sports 60fps.

Doesn’t matter it’s all compressed and only a few real sources providing all these stupid names of providers..

If you like to play games, you will have a deep understanding of the game experience of 60FPS and 30FPS. Simply put, 60FPS belongs to a fluent screen, and 30FPS has an obvious delay.

Thank you guys for all the answers I think I’ll stick with 720 60 FPS it’s more fluid and better quality for my tv and me.
