I am testing with stb emu on Shield Tv and having a hard time navigating with the remote. There are no colored keys and I cant rewind or Fast forward on the VOD section . Neither can I use teh search feature to find what I need . I read somewhere that i can key map the remote but I can't figure out the commands on how to key map . I'd highly appreciate if someone who has already gone through the trouble can help out.

You can fast forward using the left and right keys and the best I managed to come up with is set the back button to be blue button but with ‘long press’ on which brings the search up. You have to keep hold of the back button while you search though. (It’s easier to use the search wheel than the keyboard)
I have the shield and exactly know the problem you are facing. In short this is my recommendation. If you can do CEC on your TV remote that will work the cheapest. If CEC is not an option then the next best is to get a harmony companion and map the keys using the "Windows Desktop" software. The mobile application is rubbish.
