How safe are former Vader users?

by philippiner

I heard recently about Vaders shutting down. It's got me worried about how safe it is to use streaming services that accept Paypal or credit cards. If we use Paypal to pay for services, can that be traced back to us? I was reading some of the "compliance statements" at www.satscams.com . Many users mention they were tracked by paying with a credit card, even if they had paid several years before. The Vader (and other) resellers likely store payment information even after a user has canceled. I found one that uses the WHM payment system hosted on an American web host. The host would be likely to turn over all client information, and that would include names and Paypal emails. It seems like if I made even a one month payment to them, I could be in legal trouble years later if the reseller was trying to cut a deal themselves. Assuming anything about this is true (I'm assuming it's not a scam by Vader), Vader has said they will wipe all information. But some resellers are still operating for other services and could get caught themselves. So are Paypal payments safer than making credit card payments, or is crypto the only way to ensure (or be more sure of) anonymity?

End users are fairly safe as its not a case with torrents where u are actually helping distribute content.

With iptv, authorities seem to want to go after the content distributors and suppliers.

That's what I thought, but on www.satscams.com , which is NAGRASTAR's website and seems to be finding pirates of the US based DISH TV, there are some who are making compliance statements that they signed up with an IPTV service. Most are about using fake codes to unscramble channels, but there are a few who got caught using IPTV. They seem to be tracked through their payment method.

In cutting a deal with law enforcement , it’s customary for the perp to offer up a bigger criminal in exchange for leniency in their own situation.

If you buy that Propaganda posted by satscams then you should give up the internet and leave the country go off grid.

You have to look at what satscams was and who it's controlled by now.

Use a prepaid credit card no tracing it than. Don't on a public IP so you can't be traced

There is a limited risk if you have used either PayPal or a credit card. The main risk is that the reseller or provider cuts a deal and provides the authorities with all of the email addresses used for payment. The authorities could then send a standard email to each of those addresses demanding payment.
While this is technically feasible, it is unlikely to occur because with all of the services that have closed down in the past few years there have been minimal reports of end users being hassled.

Of course it can, Paypal give all personal info via transaction history.

That's why smart people use crypto or prepaid cards.

Btw never ever use a credit card. Ever. Why would you give your ccv details to some person you've never met/shady website?

They’ve been sending those letters out for years. I’ve got one in my file cabinet from 2017 for using illegal codes $3500 psssh. u/Lord-lex got one too.

I’m fairly new to iptv and would like to know from those more seasoned if there has ever been news of an end user prosecuted. I have researched and have not been able to find an instance of this happening. Even in the world of torrents I’ve only seen instances of threatening letters from isp’s.

Not sure about US, but in the EU I don’t believe you can be prosecuted for receiving a copyrighted stream, only broadcasting one. Anyone confirm or correct me?

You’re safe they don’t care about end users. As for PayPal they’re taking a cut from transactions as well lol
