I use MrMc with the IPTV Simple Client. The provider I am trying to use has vod and 24x7. When the pvr client loads it is grabbing 20k channels which takes forever. Is there a way to truncate everything except live channels to stop this? I know some providers have a web based selection option which allows this but this particular provider does not offer that.

Any decent provider should have separate M3U lists for VOD and just streaming content, but most don't.
i use xtream-editor.com for this purpose. you can personalize to your hearts content. its not free, but i find its very reasonably priced.
Use a client that allows you to add more than 1 m3u source (remote and local)
Create a local m3u file with the links to channels you normally watch.
A local list with say 500 channels loads a lot quicker than a remote list with 20k channels.
iPlayTV, GSE, IPTVX are clients that support multiple m3u sources.
