I got a box set up by a guy on kijiji who also gives me IPTV for $20 a month. My questions are:
I'm currently using an app called stb emu pro, can you use any app you want for IPTV? Like do I have other options?
Is it possible to record on this app? I cannot figure it out
Also rewinding and pausing? Is that an option?
I just abandoned cable for this, and while it's way better in a lot of ways I also miss recording and rewinding :(

Hey, I recently made the switch to PTV as well.
From my understanding (correct me if i'm wrong), if you use an IPTV server that uses Stalker Middleware, they have a MAC portal. You're limited to STBEmu as far as apps go, or through IPTV STBs such as Infomir MAG series and others that support Stalker Middleware (BuzzTv/Formuler STBs).
There are some servers like IPTV Express that support Stalker Middleware who also have their own APK apps, which have a different EPG than STBEmu, but can only be used with that server.
Some servers use M3U/XML playlists and are compatible with apps like Perfect Player, Emby, GSESmart IPTV, Smart IPTV (SIPTV), TiviMate, EPiG ect.
I currently use IPTV Gold and i'm limited to STBEmu since i don't want to spring for a new box yet.
Lol I’m talking about the guide (epg). Buzz tv and Formuler have their own guides that are more aesthetically pleasing than STBEmu. The buzz tv xlp 3000 is pretty good. You can record as well. Cheaper than the Formuler box.
