Looking for service/hardware recommendations

by oquatanzinwan

I'm currently on a FiOS triple play package with gigabit internet. I'm using some TiVo devices for cable TV. I've recently been toying with the idea of cutting cable and going with a internet only package.

I signed up for a Beast TV trial and I have been less than thrilled so far. The guide seem to be very inaccurate in the majority of the channels where all 720p with stereo audio only.

Are there any IPTV services out there that offer mostly 1080p channels with surround sound?

I'm also a heavy DVR user. I have two TVs in the house. Very often we will start watching a DVR recording in our living room and then resume watching where we left off in our bedroom. From what I've found so far, a lot of these IPTV services require the use of APK files which will lock me down to the Android ecosystem. It also looks like recordings can only be played off of the device that was used to record and it cannot be streamed to a satellite device (IE another Shield, Firestick, etc. in my bedroom) over my LAN.

I'm looking for a service and any hardware suggestions that are as close to possible as the experience you get with a retail STB.

Your expectations for the type iptv service found here are too high. Iptv providers here are mostly illegal, fly-by-night extremely cheap services providing a bare-bone low quality often buffering live TV streaming. You won't find that type of advanced features around here.

Most US channels broadcast in 720p, so you won't find anything better for these.
