Question about 24/7 channels

by dagotee19

Where do they get the streams for these channels especially older shows from 70s & 80s. Asking because it seems like most services that provide these only have a handful of episodes that they play over and over. For example, Twilight Zone has 300 episodes (both old and new) yet most only play either a handful of old or a handful of new. I was watching a show last night and within 2 hours it was repeating the episodes. I wouldn't think any show regardless of year would run out of episodes after 2 hours. It's a little frustrating, especially when some services pride themselves on their 24/7 selection. If they can have every season, every episode for Series then why not for 24/7 shows?

This is WHY you should sub to IPTV for TV and get yourself a free or paid Plex Share ;)

Thats what irritates me about them. Even newer ones like american dad and family guy that literally have hundreds of episodes always seem to have a few seasons at best and never seem to get updated. And you can never tell exactly what is in the rotation of the channels so you have no idea how complete they are until you spend long enough watching to see the duplicates. I mean it's not hard to download like 17 seasons of family guy to stick on a 24/7 in order, instead of a few random ones.

They exist because they are super cheap and easy to setup and because people rarely use them they use up very little bandwidth.

These are a waste of resources to services. However what the source of the material does is set up a server with it playing so many episodes from a box set in a loop. It will then repeat over and over. Sometimes you'll even see the name of the show with season 1 etc after it. At least then they tell you what you are really looking at. I dont use 24/7 nor do I use VOD on paid services. They are pointless and a drain on both the servers as well as a target for unwanted negative attention.
