TV channels (IPTV) Frame Rate standard for different countries........??

by ipmiserable

I want to clear up my concepts about tv channel's standard frame rate in different countries. For example i know that US based tv channels have 60 fps standard. So i want to know what other countries have standard about frame rates so that when i buy any tv service such as IPTV i know the best quality possible which can be attained. I list here some couintries which i m required to know the tv frame rate standards: UK,france, italy, germany, spain, sweden, middle east countries..etc.etc..

I also want to know is there any software or program or anything like that which will show what is fps of current tv channel which is running (IPTV) . And whether that channel has upscaled from 25 fps to 50 fps or not? Some providers upscale frame rates to disguise the customer (IPTV subscription buyer). I mean is there anything that will show true qaulity of currently running stream (IPTV)??I use programs like VLC player..etc. to get some information but i don't think itwill always tell it accuarely. I just want to know true quality of any stream (IPTV)>>.

You'll usually find (for high definition channels)

  • 720p25 (Europe)
  • 720p30 (North America)
  • 720p50 (Europe)
  • 720p60 (North America)
  • 1080i25 (Europe)
  • 1080i30 (North America)
  • 1080i50 (Europe)

(While there are 1080i60 broadcasts in North America, they are usually OTA broadcasts and you're not likely to find them on IPTV services)

Edit: I originally fucked up this list, but found a better article when correcting myself https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1080p

The Tivimate IPTV player app or Kodi shows the media info stream resolution and fps. There is no way to tell if it has been upscaled from 720 to 1080, or is using motion interpolation from 25/30 to 50/60 besides your eyes and experience

I am a reseller of 3 different services and I have them on a couple of tv's but the one I watch mostly I watch my comcast due to the better quality. Very few streaming channels beat cable. It also depends on what device u use. My Nvidia gets better reception than my firestick and it is even worse on my android box. Many times I will try to watch an labled FHD and I see no difference between that and HD and sometimes even SD. Every provider has different sources also. If I put the same channels on 3 tv's using a different service on each, Most of the time there will be little different. Even though they are labeled different. This is a continuation of testing about this for 6 months now

A lot of US channels are 720/540p & 30fps but most are 720p & 60/50fps. A lot of UK channels however, stream

at 1080p and 60fps.
