Is using Gen2TV legal?

by rubyith

So my dad heard about Gen2TV and I am wondering if it’s a legal place to be able watch/stream TV in the United States or if it’s illegal? It’s something he would be paying $30 a month for, thanks In advance

All IPTV is gray area. That being said, there hasn't been a case where a viewer in the USA has ever been sued.

How many TVs will he be using at once? $30 a month is expensive if he'll only be using 1 connection at a time. . You can find some for as little as $6 a month, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

I resell a service specifically for US channels, premium channels, and all the sports packages and PPV, and it starts at $10.

Let me know if you want a free trial.

Aside from Vue, DirecTVnow, HuluTV, YouTubeTV, I’m not sure of any “legal” IPTV services.

Keep in mind things that are perfectly legal sometimes turn out to be illegal. For example, Sky TV in Italy was broadcasting a lot of things it did not have the rights to and was sued for it, no different than IPTVs doing the same thing (well it is “morally”, but intent is often irrelevant in international copyright infringement)

So don’t worry about it. Keep your legal name/information out of it, load up that VPN, and go with the BEST PROVIDER. Let the provider worry about staying legally protected.

For example. I PAY for YouTube and Netflix, but I watch all their shows via Seren. Why? Because Seren offers better versions, higher quality, 265 encoding for better nitrate and/or bandwidth, etc. etc.

So if I were to ever actually be charged with say “pirating Cobra Kai” and the judge asked how I felt about YouTube losing money from my practices, I could just say “ummm, I’ve been subscribed to YouTube premium since it was called YouTube Red. I pay them money every month, what’s the problem?”

Obviously no one cares about the end user except the British (even then I’m skeptical) but even if they did, are you really going to go with a worse service just because they say they’re legal? (Which as aforementioned above may not even be true)

Gen2TV does not have the approval from the copyright holders to stream the channels that it provides. If Gen2TV was taken to court by the copyright holders there is little doubt that it would be found guilty.

For an individual watching streams it is a dark grey area. Your risk is that someone could threaten to take you to court if you don't settle for an agreed amount. If you were prepared to spend the time and money on taking the case to court then you might be found innocent. But it would be an expensive task. However the probability of this occurring is very low.

If you want somewhat cheap and completely legal streaming I'd check out Philo or Sling TV. I love Philo here's my referral link https://link.nickshelp.info/philo
