Helix - should I go Mac or App based

by gaz_0001

Hi,

I watch IPTV on a BUZZ30000 Android box.

It has built in app which is great, and uses the Mac for connections.

With Helix I have the option to either take 1 Mac connection, or take 2x Android app connections.

Can anyone advise which method is best? App or Mac?

I have only ever used Mac in the past. Thanks

Helix user here. I've used MAG with Smart STB but these days I use Tivimate/M3U instead. Just works better for my needs.

With helix u should be able to do both, ie link the mac to a user/pass account.

It comes down to personal preference, which layout u prefer. I can't really see a difference in quality (although im sure some will argue they can tell), and most will have the same features, ie favourites, search, change player.

Any decent Helix reseller should allow you to do both. Usually you take the m3u option and then add a mac address yourself to your account on their website. So you can actually watch on a mac-based device and a m3u-based device at the same time (providing you have a 2 connection subscription).

Do you know, now you can add m3u to buzz box's inbuilt app? So you can have a m3u based service and still use the buzz tv app as well as tivimate and others. Its pretty convenient.
