How to tell if bad service during Premier League games is an overloaded sever at a peak time or related to my ISP blocking it?

by jbwalton7

I have helix, basically just for watching football.

During times when premier league games are on (like right now) it is difficult to get the service working.

Could this be the service itself? Or do you think a VPN would solve this issue?

Thanks in advance

It can be your ISP, the service, their source, and anywhere in between. For instance yesterday CoolAsIce iptv was fucked all afternoon. They told me that they were epl blocked and i should enable VPN. Tried a dozen different countries through VPN and it was all the same, cutting out once a minute. Helix was fine without a vpn. Its pure damn luck basically, and why you usually need a backup.

Helix wasn't working for me earlier without VPN. Turned VPN on and working fine now.

I also have helix and i am in the uk (virgin media) game started off fine and then the whole service went down. Switched on my VPN and everything was working fine again.

BUT one of the channels, i think the Sky Sports Main Event channel had froze. It wasnt buffering or not connecting, it appeared to be streaming a frozen screen. Chose a different channel and everything worked fine.

Are you from UK? That's the only scenario where it's possible your ISP is blocking it.
