IPTV Noob Questions

by tomshreds

Hi! I don't know if this is the right place to post these questions but feel free to tell me if otherwise.

I noticed no matter which reseller I sub to, I get the same m2u server url address. So I guess the reseller only creates an account on the ok2 server for me to start using it but the reseller has no influence over the content itself or the track order & listing. Here's my questions:

1.a) I currently have an ok2 sub. Is track listing different between resellers or is it always going to be the same order, etc? so I could swap reseller and keep my settings

1.b) What are basically the different of subscribing to a different reseller but for the same provider (ok2 in this case)? I guess customer support, customer web ui, etc?

  1. how is ok2 seen overall? I know I'll get people shilling their favorite reseller but what are the most objectively stable / better provider in between ok2, ipguys, diablo, oktv, etc? so far I love ok2, the quality is pretty good overall IMO

  2. I keep being pushed to buy an android box but what I like is using m3u with an iptv player. It's easier to have on all my devices ios/android/pc/whatever than having some android box which reminisce me too much of my old TiVo box I used to hate. What are the pros & cons of an android box vs a m3u setup like I currently run?

Thanks!

1.a) Different suppliers will have different channel lineups, so you can't swap between different suppliers and have it be exactly the same.

1.b) Correct. Ultimately it's usually customer support, a rebranded app, etc. Some will also provide a secondary service, such as more VOD.

2 - Can't help here. It's really up to what channels you're looking for, and using a few trials to see which supplier best fits your needs.

3- If what you have works well for you, don't buy an android box. Everyone pushes them, but if you're happy with your setup, why change It?

Hope this helped.

  1. Basically there isn't one. One guy might be willing to offer you more "hand holding" then the next, or take a payment method another may not, but at the end of the day nothing about the core product is going to change. Since as you guessed right...they have no influence over the content itself.
  2. It's been a while since I tested that that, and it was only for a week or so, but I found it to be a pretty run of the mill IPTV provider that didn't really stand out with anything.
  3. The obvious pro starts with the simple surrounding fact that all IPTV player methods aren't equal as a whole when it comes to expected playback stability of pirated live feeds, and android setups are usually just better supported and offer more overall flexibility then those other options you list when it comes to this stuff. That is why so many people "push it". Especially towards those falling on the newbie side, and who already possess enough of a high probability of being "that guy" popping into a support chat to ask about buffering nobody else is seeing without handicapping themselves even further :)

  1. Who cares what other people think. If it works for you then keep using it. If it's lacking something you need then try another service. You'll likely won't find everything you need in one service. Ok2 is popular for a reason. It just works.
