VPN for US user

by AsteroidCosmic

Hi,

My question is simple, do I really need a VPN if I live in the US? I am worried that getting a VPN will slow down my speeds. Also, VPNs have a cost. I am already using Cloudflare's DNS, and I don't really think VPNs offers total protection and it might not be even needed.

It seems rare that ISPs throttle IPTV in the US, but it started to happen to me recently (using Verizon at both home and work). My main IPTV service, which had been 99.9% reliable, started to buffer badly a couple of weeks ago. Both my reseller and I were baffled as to why, until he got complaints from other Verizon users - then I started using a VPN at his suggestion and it works perfectly again.

Do you Need a VPN? The answer is NO but.. Contrary to the popular belief IPTV is not legal. The only services that are legal charge anywhere from $50 to $100 a month. All these services here are not legal. A vpn will give you some basic protection so you don't get sued in the US. You can still be sued if for example the networks go after the provider and said provider gives them your info tho unlikely. As for speed slowdown, with a good vpn you should not notice that much. Hope this helps
