I got helix and have been trying to get the guide to work for 2 days now but cant figure it out. I got it to work with the 25 max channels then subscribed for a year and those channels went away and I cant get anything to show up in my guide. Any experts around to help me? I am going crazyyyyyy
Which app (or device) are you using?
You can use Helix’s EPG URL or leave the EPG field blank and use Xtream Editor’s guide by leaving that field blank. Their guide is very good. You may have to reconcile any channels where guide is red and correct (will turn green). It takes some practice and tinkering but worth it.
Ok I got it working finally! But it is missing a lot of the what’s playing on the channels. Any trick to getting that up to date?
Buddy, try using iptveditor.com with xmltv.co. I've used xtream before. The issues I had with them was not enough EPG data for local USA channels, and support was outrageous. Maybe some people think that support is great but for me wasnt. I felt like I have to pull out words from them to try to help.
Eventually, I cancel the subscription and choose iptveditor with xmltv.co. The service is great, support is always via discord and the owners are very helpful.

They have a good support ticketing system as well. If you’re setting up an API line, go to each category, “valid EPG ID” and choose “try automatic assignment”.
