Troubleshooting NorthernWifi Iptv and 1st gen Firestick

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with either a) 1st gen firestick or b)IPTV. I'm using Northern Wifi IPTV atm, installed about week n half 2 weeks ago. Worked fine for that period of time, but now the app doesn't load. Upon launch the screen quickly goes from grey to black, no loading bar as it previously did, just blank.

Similarly had an issue with a smart-stb app and another iptv provider. Same thing, worked great for about a week or two and then it just up and quits. Has anyone ever heard, seen or experienced this issue or anything similar?

I'm stumped. I've tried reloading, restarting, reinstalling and even tried running a VPN. IP Vanish has issues with 1st gen firestick, go figure!

Sounds like you have a Mac based sub? If so try installing stbemu. You would need the Mac registered to your account obviously to use in the profile you make in stbemu.

Or if you have an m3u sub then install iptv smarters or something similar. You would need the login details and url to use that that app.

That 1st gen firestick may need a factory reset to clear out the gunk left behind by other apps.

1st thing to try is to clear the cache of the app. If that doesn’t work then clear the data. If that fails, then the factory reset.

A sub=subscription

Noobs to iptv tend to use custom apps like that . Less chance for screwing things up. Experienced users tend to use stock apps as you can load multiple subs on at one time vs. multiple apps.

UPDATE! I wiped the stick and reinstalled the NIPTV app. That didn't do anything! However, there was a 4k app for the newer 4k stick, strangely enough that did the job! Been back up and running for 4hrs strong.
