Z8 all the way hands down. I own both and I love them both lol. But for iptv there app is amazing. Nothing compares
Mol2 app is best on the market so I would say z8 .. however processing wise it's the shield ... Tivimate is a great option on shield ... if it's iptv your main use
depends on what u like to do. If u like to play games the shield comes with a game pad and is design for games but because its android based, it can use all the apk like smarter or trivimate. However the z-8 is build in mac system for iptv but also can use apk. If it is only iptv and apk based entertainment the z9 and the dreamlink t3 are ur best bet. For more than tv the nvidia is the best for versatility

For IPTV only like you said, Z8 hands fown. If you want to game and need Hulu/Netflix and YouTube in 1080p or 2160p go for the shield.
I would say shield, i've got a z8 also but may just be me but loses connection frequently only really bought it to try mol2 and its eyecandy but doesnt imo do anything better than other apps around
i still go back to shield with perfectplayer :)
I use the Z8 with both MOL2 and tivimate and both perform well as tv guides for iptv. While the z8 is pretty good, it's also "pretty" pricey too! Not tried a shield but from what I read about it, it gets the iptv job done very well especially with tivimate app. Either one will suffice for iptv, shield has a lot more horsepower for other applications. I did read some blurb about Z8 video quality is slightly superior than the nvidea shield.
