IPTV and VPN

by rizwan602

Why do IPTV providers generally make things difficult for VPN users? I am able to connect to several IPTV service without a problem on a home internet connection, but when I enable a VPN, the performance is either non-existent or terribly slowed down. The VPN speeds are fantastic (upwards to 40 Mbit/second download and 20 Mbit/second upload) so I do not see it being a speed problem. All sites work (except for Netflix due to proxy detection). But for IPTV, I do not care.

If you know of an IPTV service that works with VPNs please post here, if appropriate or DM with some details. Thanks.

I doubt this has much to do with the service. What VPN do you use?

Is the VPN at router level or device level,i had problems similar to yourself with my VPN on my Asus RT-AC68U router,on upgrading to Asus RT-AC86U all those problems disappeared,so the router`s cpu and ability to handle a vpn is paramount in my limited experience.

Read this a few years ago - Easy solution for UK users, avoid the big 6 isp's. Go with a quality ISP like Idnet or AAISP. Both refuse to censor anything, both are committed to not throttling anything. I am about to move house and will resist the temptation to get BT or Sky and pay less, because I don't want the censorship they will be doing. With idnet or AAISP youll never need to use a vpn with iptv (and they are likely to be faster as well).

Express VPN all the way for me. I barely loose any speed, and it's just been rock solid for 18 months. They are a little bit more expensive than most for a reason!
