Any and all thoughts and options on recording an iptv service. Using a 2nd gen firestick and know there is a recording feature for most but not ahead of time. Looking to record sporting events way prior to it starting. Thanks for any ideas in advance.
I'm going to be getting a Formuler Z8 which runs MOL2 specifically for this purpose at some point in the future. It's not really possible to do this with a Firsestick (what I currently have).
I haven't done it myself but apparently from reading my providers forum, the gold standard is setting up TV Headend on a server and using the fire stick as a client thru TVHE apps or Kodi.

IPTV extreme app on android allows preset future recording.. select channel and time to start recording etc

Recording is possible on firestick just have to buy a cheap wire off eBay so hard drive or usb can be connected to it.
I've looked everywhere for a decent guide for getting Tvheadend working with IPTV and spent hours on it. Anybody know of one?
I saw a video on a guy who set up his Plex DVR (premium pass) to record IPTV. Looked interesting but I never tried it myself.
Get a good android box. Trying to record from a fire stick isn’t possible.
My friend used to record with his Vaders sub , since I don’t use Vader and i use CloudsPal sub i thought if i buy a firestick i will be able to record ! Unfortunately this is not the case !

Plex is a media server software package that runs on various platforms (Linux, Windows, Mac etc.) You define 1 or more libraries for Music, TV shows and Movies and link your existing folders with media. Plex clients with which you can play your media also exist for various platforms/devices.
For Live TV & DVR recording, you’ll need a Plex pass (payable monthly, yearly or lifetime) and a antenna or a IPTV feed plus Xteve.

No problem happened to me also and don’t that aswell cable cheap enough and usb stick cheap enough if already don’t got one just glad could help👍🏼
With the size of the OS and apps already installed I don't imagine there being a whole lot of space available for recording on a firestick.
Get yourself a decent box. The shield with a couple of 128gb USB's gets you the shield pro specs for about $100 cheaper and it might be difficult to get your hands on a pro (500gb).
If you can make do with 32gb of internal storage there are plenty of decent more affordable options
