I have an LG smart TV. My IPTV provider only gives me a link for content and he says he has set that to the software MAC that I have provided to him. I have tested this on the STB EMU app. This works, but I dont like the app.
Now, some of the other IPTV player apps on the LG TV is asking me for an username, password, and link. Example: Smarters, Stalker, Ministra. What username and password? My IPTV provider says he has no clue about this.
m3u with username & password is completely different to a portal solution and are not compatible with each other.
Might depend on your provider, but when I first create an account in the reseller panel, we need to tell the system if it's either going to be MAC based or account based.
Maybe they don't have that capability.
I used epic iptv with ministra player with username/password and it worked on both my phone and samsung 4k tv.
There are 4k channels it can run indeed because they were playing on my 4k tv but my phone. You can try that out, bit expensive but if you really needed.
Even I am looking forward to tryout other iptv who can provide the username/password so that I can run on ministra, currently trying for express iptv, haven't found any who can sell me with username/password.
you would need to buy another subscription to get a username and password as the m3u file is a different type of subscription to set up compared to the mac address
