is paid iptv worth it - when you hate sports?

by stonecats

after a few weekends of research, i setup my fire 4k with great free live and vod apks, so while everything i like may be in different places and levels of dependability - it works.

when i trail various iptv m3u offers, i always arrive at the same conclusion... they are no better than what i already get free besides porn, 24/7 series and sports channels.

occasionally a paid m3u surprises me with one hard to find channel i like that actually works consistently, but that's hardly worth giving them $5-$25/mo. so what do you guys think?

should i give up on paid iptv m3u's, or keep looking in hopes i find one that's actually worth the payment id risk and cost (despite already getting most of it free from various other apps).

The free live IPTV apks tend to be in low res. A paid IPTV service will stream at 720p and some channels at 1080p

It's entirely subjective. If your setup works for you, that's all that matters.

From my perspective it's definitely worth it. With a monthly payment I get reliable service and tons of channels in one easy to use package. So easy in fact that I purchased additional connections for my brother and 74 year old mother.

From my experience, you get what you pay for. If it's free, it won't be easy to use, or the quality will be diminished, or you'll have tons of ads, or tons of buffering. The LiveNetTV app, which is free, is actually what motivated me to search for something with a small fee but better service. That's how I found IPTV.

This is also how I got my friend on IPTV. He was using Kodi, but was constantly on the hunt for reliable streams or addons. When his Canadian provider went down, he just gave up and started watch free OTA channels.

I also have friends though that would rather pay nothing and deal with channels not working, or ads, or a very small selection.

It really comes down to what you're willing to pay for TV entertainment. For some it's $100+ for real service. For some of us, it's $10-20 a month. For some it's free, or they can live without it.

Do what works for you. When you go the free route, don’t expect any sort of customer service or direct contact with an admin. If $5-$10/month is too much in your eyes, then continue what you’re doing.

Channel switching is much easier and faster on dedicated IPTV apps compared to the free apks. There's also EPG which you won't find on the free apks.
