I want to broadcast my own channel to my shops, whats the best way to do this?

by chrizfitz

My plan is to encode from a machine in our head office to 20 shops around the country. Showing ads interviews slideshows etc. From a bit of homework I am hoping to go from pc to ip encoder to shops but am afraid of the bandwidth needs. What service can I use to upload and stream to my 20 shops?

How would you do this? Any reply is appreciated.

Why not use Youtube? Set the channel to private and have the shops load it up.

They have apps that will do this, mind you for a fee. I used one on a mac when i worked at a large resort. I would make ads show up every 15 seconds, the amount of local businesses that advertised payed for the program. I will see if i can find it for you, been a few years

you see for things like this multicasting is the ideal way, but unless you have IPv6 "end to end" then you can use alternative likes P2P streaming, now I don't know if there open source P2P video streaming servers, but there are certainly paid ones:
