Messy channel list + repetitive channels....is this the norm?

by Sportfreunde

I subscribed to a Helix trial. Fairly good all things considered right now but there are a tonne of channels and each subcategory is a bit of a mess. There are also a lot of redundant channels that seem to show up in multiple categories. Just very overwhelming and tedious to browse through.

Is this the norm unless you manually get something to edit the list yourself? I'm using tivimate on a Firestick.

Helix has multiple channel sources so if a channel goes down, you have two or three other options to use, so for example you may have channels in Entertainment which are also duplicated in the VIP SD / HD named categories, these are often fed from a different source for back up purposes, and given the volatile unpredictable nature of IPTV, most people see having back up sources for channels as a positive!. They all appear in the correct categories for me using Smarters Pro on an Android Box although some channels are down just like many other services. The redundant channels are probably due to the ongoing problems after the XC raid last week, which is affecting virtually every service. Given time they will probably be restored.

Lol why is everyone so hostile. He is obviously new to IPTV, i was the same. He is not whining like a spoiled brat. He is literally just asking a question.

Im still pretty new to IPTV, just want to let you know that my IPTV is the same, it does have alot of double channels. So im guessing its the norm my friend. And judging from other ppls comments it does seem to be the norm lol. Hope this helps :)

Just setup a favorites list.

Why there's multiple channels in different categories, is because you probably purchased the triple package which gives you, for example, a 720p feed of a particular channel and a 1080p feed of the same channel, because you're getting the lower tier packages as well.

If you purchased it within the last week, they're going through major changes due to the ordering system that was recently raided by the government. I'm sure it'll take them at least a month to figure out, like it will for 90% of everyone.

I've had Helix for over a year. Have no complaints.

Hey people, it's still too early to evaluate any services. The issues are being worked on. If you can do better quicker get to it. If not piss and moan about the environment or something else. . .

With the app I've just gone through and added the channels I'm likely to watch and that are working to favourites.

Every provider has multiples of the major channels whether it be backups or different resolutions. What I do is set up favourites of each channel I'll actually watch so I have a list of 60 channels to scroll through instead of 6000

This was the main reason I signed up to epg-iptv to make my own list from that mess. I understand they have backup channels but why have them in different categories?? Everything else about Helix has been top notch for me though, very little buffering, very quick response to tickets and channel requests.

Delete this post dude, you’re going to cause a swarm that will give you far more problems then a “messy” channel list.
