Is IPTV dead in the water now?

by athetopofahill

I feel like this isn't going to be a fix within a month. I think it could take 6 or so months to get fixed or get back to the way it was before. All the working providers seem to be having issues with traffic and not accepting new subscriptions. Even the ones who are up have barely any channels or no EPG. Im wondering if I should go back to cable now so depressing because I just signed a 2yr internet deal at a great rate, but my cooling off period expires Wednesday so if I go past that I'm screwed cannot change providers and will have to pay a fortune for TV if I want cable added. If this doesn't get fixed. My provider choice has been down since the takedown.

I know it’s sucks but this “industry” revamping will eventually be a good thing. It was foolish to have 99% of providers all using the same panel software and I think folks now are seeing why. They didn’t have to go after 1000+ providers they just had to go after the one software company they all used.

In all honesty I hope this situation is the catalyst for change and I think it will be. I’d like to see more of a closed system, less in the public eye. In another words smart providers don’t advertise their services on Facebook, YouTube, etc like what has been happening. In addition, I’d like to see the good providers go to an invite system and only open registration at random times of the year. This keeps the scrutiny at bay, increases the quality of service for existing clients and everybody wins. Just ask the providers who’ve been doing it for years, make a solid amount, and are totally under the radar. They have longevity and isn’t that what we want as customers, not to worry about the next big bust? I’m sure the providers feel the same way. The ones who actually care anyways. Just my hot take of the day.

If it helps you make up your mind I’m sure it will not be fixed by Wednesday.

I subbed to SportzTV when my two main services went down. SportzTV has been great so far. A little buffering but certainly livable. Look them up.

As of right now, most of the providers are back with at least some content. In my case I have most of the UK stations, including all the Sky Sports and BT Sports. That’s certainly more than you’d be able to get at an affordable price from cable so I see no reason for you to want to go that route. I think 6 months is a bit pessimistic regarding its return to pre-incident levels. I think one month, possibly two before it’s more or less back.

So I’m still relatively new to IPTV. I love it, but I’m ignorant as to what is going on. Can anyone fill me in?

I really only used Double Agent because their PPV was always reliable for UFC and in HD quality. I used a few other before but the buffering was terrible so I switch to DA. Which of these would you recommend for PPV in HD without buffering?

I choose sportztv as emergency provider until crystal clear comes back. It's getting back bit by bit. NFL last night had a few hiccups but for the most part was a very good stream for both of these guys.

I think honestly providers are now going to do better to make sure they are more solid. This was way too much exposure.

I signed up with some guy I found on here last week, service was pretty terrible the first few days but for the last couple of days it's been perfect. If you're desperate, you're other option is iView I had a trial if the other day and it's flawless, but it's €19 a month I think.

Mums has 80% of channels back fat load time and more being sorts this week and still hav mag emulation!

No it's not dead in the water. You didn't mention if you only have 1 service. Need to have more than 1 right now. I have 3, 2 of which are running pretty decently. I would suggest not going back to cable instead order a legit streaming service until this blows over since it may be a while.

andy8992

Many services are back up, I was subbed to a bunch when it went down and they're all coming back. So I dunno what you're talkin bout

chrispy1973

XC grew their infrastructure over years, expecting a drop in replacement to be made available in a couple of weeks is unrealistic. Given the circumstances, a lot of providers have done well to get running as well as they are.

nextman6515

SRS now has a decent amount of channels up and running. No EPG but kids have been watching boomerang all morning. Watched the footy over the weekend on sky sports too.

You could alway go to redditbay and buy an account to cable from there (that's what im thinking of doing) for a month or two while it all gets sorted out.

MrKaon

I have two subs, both are came back now. Stronger than before 😁.

loki0505

ya'll need to quit whining and just grab an IPTV service from dhgate for $25 for a year....they have been GREAT and unaffected by this xtream crap.

davo_nz

Smoothstreams still smooth and fantastic.
