Maybe I'm being a bit thick in asking this but is Coinbase bitcoin really the best way to pay anonymously as the pinned Starter Guide thread suggests? I just tried to make an account now and it asked me for all my personal details. Would it work if I gave fake details or am I just being needlessly paranoid? I live in the UK if that makes any difference.
Sorry to burst peoples identity bubble here but if it's privacy you're after then download a cryptocurrency wallet like Coinomi or Mycelium onto your phone and google Bitcoin ATM in your area and go have a coffee. Send a few bucks worth of bitcoin to your wallet and you now have your own bitcoin. Now, don't get me started with Monero and true privacy. Coinbase is an exchange that has to follow KYC legislation. They also hold your keys so it's not your bitcoin.
