Helix is now using FilmOn to stream some channels - are they going to close soon?

Usually this would be cause for concern but right now not so much. It actually shows they are actively working on maintaining streams regardless where they come from.

Helix has a solid history and with a good number of source providers going down things like this are to be expected right now.

I was a huge supporter and subscriber of Helix up until recently.

Their quality was pretty top notch, but even before the "event" happened, they've been slowly going downhill.

Channels not loading, buffering, channels with no audio, EPG that only shows half the channels, and out of those - half show the wrong program.

I've been using them for over a year now, but I think Helix is on its way out, and don't think I'll resub.

And they've ditched the BT and Sky sport channels?

Bye bye to 90%+ of their subscribers.

There are rumours circulating that one of the main channel sources was shut down yesterday, so perhaps reliable sources for some channels are getting scarce?. I've seen the 'filmon tv' logo on one of my providers from time to time so Helix aren't unique in using this source

I've just renewed my sub. Some days most of the UK, USA channels are there. Some days there are many broken channels. Hardly any of the other international channels are working. But that said I'm going to stick with them to see if they can come up with a fix. If it's no good after this months sub I'll probably just downgrade to the UK/USA channels subscription.

as far as sports (BT, SKY, BiEN) they are no longer using Xtream Codes to manage streams (obviously). This leaves very limited ability to handle the EPL block. So, remove those for now and hopefully a workaround will come up soon enough. I'm sure it wasn't an easy choice

Plp please stop crying about it. We ALL know what happened last week and the huge effect that it got on the iptv world. Some iptvs have not been able to leave the hole yet. Be patient. Helix is fuking great. Some channels are down yess we see it. and its due to the channels providers that were afected. Its cheap and we get a lotttttt of content for the low price. Save the drama and go back to comcast/dish/direct so they can rip you a new one. Enjoy 😉

It does not matter who the iptv supplier is, the new panel is a piece of doodoo. There for to keep streams going they are using smaller panel setup with less servers to run the user base. This causes buffering during high load times. Most iptv providers lost the complete data base too. No restore points so they had to start from scratch.

If you are going to blame anyone blame that Greedy Italian govt trying to steal all of ec's money because they do not know how to run their own country so the screw everyone instead. I call the the Maradona syndrome. They get frenzied and go crazy. It is just the Italian way.

Some providers are getting their stuff together faster than others and they are all scrambling for your money all at the same time all on the same panel that is coded by one person and has more bugs that the African plains or Amazon Jungle.

The ones that whine and cry because they lost 2 weeks of the cheapest and best tv they could ever buy now know what they are missing and prices now will go up, less services will be available and few companies will stay big because big gets you taken down. So expect higher prices for your 4000+ channels

Looks like it..Shame cause only heard good things about them! Let’s hope they can sort it!

It seems most providers are using Filmon as a source now , my provider CloudsPal also have some channels with filmon logo

Not too much of a concern itself.

I remember seeing film on and public m3u channel streams on epic stream during its peak.

Sometimes providers just provide what they can

leftpegger1

I was lucky my sub was up this weekend. Ibe found an alternative m3u provider. I'd never used m3u before but it was remarkably easy to set up once I knew what I was doing.

Good luck to the Helix lads but as long as my m3u works I wont be going back.

sengboy120

apart from helix, is there any reliable iptv provider with BT and Sky with 50 fps as Helix did before the slaughter?

mcyoshi2

Seems to be down today. Or is it just me?
